The
Great Main Sacrifice in the Sign of the Full Moon |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This
first great main sacrifice of the human, almighty creative power is
under the sign of the moon, for it is the one sacrifice which leads
the sacrifice-giver into the world of pure consciousness. “It serves the mind of the sacrifice-bringer to reach pure consciousness and safely leads into the deepest depths of the world-ocean, where Agni has his dominion in the transcendence, and from where he rules the world of the mind so powerfully. “Under the expert guidance of the priests every participant performs within himself this white full-moon sacrifice when he practises meditation. “The priests of the sacrifice consist of the inner, cosmic breath
of life as the high priest, and of the two attendant main priests, the
feeling and the understanding aspects of the cosmic breath. “All these twelve priests represent the ruling deities when pure consciousness is reached and maintained. “These highest, advising sacrificial priests are joined by the practising sacrifice-knowers and sacrifice-helpers, the sun- and the moon-alfs. These in turn are joined by the mind-giants which administrate the sacrifice. “It is men that are assembled around the bright fires to bring
the sacrifices, and in their meditations they present the mental gifts
they have accumulated over long periods of time. “The place of sacrifice is the human mind; the altar, on which every mental gift is placed, no matter how small it may be, is the pure consciousness. “And the offerings are all the limited mental concepts, to which the sacrifice-bringer had bound himself so far. |
