The Fanners of the Cosmic Winds

In a sledge, half plough, half ship, which was drawn by silvery rams with golden horns, wonder-working men rushed down from the moon through the mighty clouds. They wore golden helmets and dark-blue dresses, richly embroidered in gold and silver and set with jewels.
From their gleaming eyes they sent quivering flashes into the depths of the milk-ocean which shone brighter and brighter.

Golden gleaming fires shot from their red-golden sun-shields which urged the blue winds to even greater hurry.
With golden whips, to which finely sounding silvery bells were fastened, the men spurred the lustrous rivulets, which pushed their wondrous vehicle like a plough through the furrows of the milk-ocean, into an ever more rapid flow.

“In this way the fighters for the freedom of will shift the wave-marks of the whirling sea, so that all trough-boundaries of the wishing-waters move, and thus the plains of the fulfilled desires stretch further and further,” explained Sol.

As they ploughed, these men even shot at the white-frothing waves with their silver-golden singing arrows, which penetrated the waves and pulled them down into the depths.
In greater and greater circles the heroes gradually smoothened the roaring, faster and faster whirling sea, until it finally looked like a perfectly smooth rotating disc that glistened silvery white from the moonlight, and which shone like a huge fine-silvery shield that was turned towards the face of the moon.
