He has to be able to distinguish clearly, on the level of his finest thinking, a useful from a less useful or completely useless thought as clearly as he can distinguish between a corn of wheat, a corn of millet and the chaff. If, on the basis of such inner ability of discrimination, one wants to create orderliness in an accumulation of chaos - as for example the heap of grains or also in a run-down country - then supernormal powers are required, as represented by the help of the doves but also by the fountain or the man with the golden beard. too the king's son was meant to learn in a simple manner. This was mostly the reason that so many of them stood there with their mouths wide open because much harder it was for them to believe, with normal people like themselves, in such an upright attitude than in any outer miraculous deed. |
