The effect is an immediate increase of effort and a greater and greater exertion in all directions - for the success in action becomes less and less in proportion to the loss of knowledge. Finally, those who are thus emotionally caught in action cannot imagine anymore that the increased effort in action is the least appropriate solution. “If one ties two elephants together and lets them pull in opposite directions, none of the two would get anywhere. So would it be a solution then to have more elephants pull in the same manner? It would just look like more - but the effect would be the same: no progress would be made. |
