The Power of Royal Dignity | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The little boy stood the test in a royal manner: he first of all protected the sprouting life, putting aside all personal desire, inclination or ambition. This is worthy of a king; because the king who is willing to sacrifice human lives, who is ready to send others into the war or go to war himself, has failed at the root of feeling and is not fit for his office. Because this attitude of character is so important for the office of a king, his father tested him three times in a row. “And even if the boy had assumed that one of the birds lied at him, which could have been easily possible since all three birds used the same words - as if some agreed text in case of danger - he still opted for the possibility of first of all protecting the budding life, and this is how this very own personal trait of his character gained a general value in his present and future domain. |
