“And in the same manner as the king is committed by his office to make available to the people, with the help of the sage, the true knowledge about the immortality of natural life, and thus to ensure permanent progress in the society of man, in the same manner he is also committed to protect the sage from the impudence of the presence of deluded people in his environment; originally the sovereign has the duty to bring the fakirs and fanatics among the priests, philosophers, and ideologists to perfection; but here the mighty king sees a hopeless endeavour before him.

It seems impossible to him in the first place to create serious seeking and acting, truly devoted to god, within this group of professionally blind - as for example opposed to his dutiful, simple soldiers; and so there is only one possibility left to him: chasing away the hypocrites from the vicinity of the sage.

“This he achieves by showing up with divine attributes: all of them run away lest they might get in touch with enlightenment.

“Now Helgi shoots his magnificent weapon, and look: the divine sage catches the hundred and eight ancient star-ways of unfoldment as thankful greetings in the shape of flowers and arranges them into a beautiful, colourful bouquet - every blossom an infinite, splendid diversity of its own.
And the divine sage gives the flower in the middle to the retired king of the world who is thus accepted into the assembly of sages.

“The rigid, relentless sense of cosmic justice which the true leader of state needs to successfully perform his duties - because he has to steadfastly and unperturbed follow the rules of the cosmic law if he wants to guide his people safely to unity - is in that manner purified even more by the supernormal power of the sage.

“And when the king says, ”Shame over the power of the warriors, kings and heroes! Somehow I have to obtain wisdom!” he wants to implant this knowledge firmly into the thinking of all the leaders of man: whoever has anywhere in the world people that listen to him and that trust him, should seek, for the happiness of his people and for his own freedom, a true sage - no fakirs - to guide those who trust him to human perfection and - to attain to wisdom himself.

“Such perfect, implicit agreement as the great sage Sehermund and the mighty king Helgi made right from the beginning - the sage for reasons of fulfilling completely his hospitality towards the guests, and the king similarly for reasons of doing his regal duty towards the ones for whose prosperity he carries the responsibility - is one of the great wonders which wisdom contains,” said Sol.

Since quite some time Mani had noticed that the colourfully scintillating lucidity of nature turned more and more golden,
increasing the radiance of the forest through which they were walking.

As if they were their own inner life, these lightstreams permeated all the trees and bushes, all the grass as well as all animals and birds of the wood and even the moss-covered stones and the earth that sometimes shimmered through, and everything now shone brighter and brighter golden so that Mani was almost dazzled.
