The ice masses had hardly disappeared, and they were just travelling through calmer waters, when the sea began to boil suddenly as if they were in a giant pot.
And furious storms were raging over the high-towering masses of water, and stirred the foaming sea so hot and wild that Mani feared the boat would capsize and the journey would find its end.

But in the midst of all the boiling floods her faithful brother reassured her.
“The towering waves that you see are the nascent mighty forces of free conscience in the hearts of man, and the hot, scintillating glow from the depth of the waters comes from the incessant life-will which no longer bears to be buried under the ice-masses of the world of reason.”

“Thus, with all the power of the feeling, the free creative will of man urges upward to the light of the world in order to prepare, for the heart, the ways to fulfilment.
Look at the hot glow that gushes up from the depths of the world waters and throws out embers and ashes; behind it the heated flood is more peaceful already and provides the creative feeling of all beings with air to breathe.
In the roaring storm of boiling waters these glowing ores push the ice-masses away from the Island of Happiness to the edge of the worlds, while they are kept in motion by the wonder-working songs which you can hear through the frothing waters.”

“The free development of conscience incites this inner fire of life. The pupils of the sage on the Island of Happiness collect these glowing sparks and cool them at the ice-masses of the free will.
And if they neglected this holy art, the world of man would burn in the heat of their uncontrolled emotions, and it would resemble the boiling spring tide that you experience here.”

With these words Sol began to sing again very lovely, and Mani noticed that the billowing sea calmed down; she felt that the glowing masses cooled down and that mild streams of blissful warmth were flowing past.

In the light of the rising sun she saw the Island of Happiness lying very close before them.

The sea around them had calmed down; protected by the chantings, a soft and serene air blew from the island towards them.
With renewed strength Mani steered towards the banks.
