And so he begins to chase after little shortlived pleasures - and wears himself out hunting around in the few hours of his waking state of consciousness, hoping to find happiness in this world. “But
because he thinks, perceives and cognizes only in fragments - as is
the nature of his present state of evolution - and immediately chases
these fragments, he drifts into the desultory and choppy ways of effort. “Someone in waking state then believes that the zigzag movements by which he jumps from one small pleasure to some limited satisfaction and onto yet another minute fulfilment, bring him closer to real fulfilment. “Experience shows clearly that a beggar does not become rich by continuing to beg. He
may gather certain values - but if he continues to beg he will not reach
the continuous secure feeling of wealth which the really rich have. This is due to the fact that he clings to the technique of begging instead of switching over to the technique of due reward. “In these mighty exercises on the three islands - the Island of Overflowing Wealth, the Island of Happiness, and the Island of Wisdom - which match the reality of immortal life - lies the true cosmic seed of all human progress - far away from all dreaming and far away from the fragmented perception of the golden reality of life which in truth is a continuum. And the experience of the next tower is completely unknown to so many; some even doubt the very possibility of such experience - which is only the experience of the fourth of the seven towers.” |
