The Magic Ring that Overcomes Space and Time

On the next forest-clearing Mani saw a big smithy which was made from gold and silver. In the centre of the work-shop stood an ornate forge from which a dazzling-white, red-blue bordered smokeless flame shot forth.
In front of the belching smithy stood a young man blowing incessantly into the gleaming embers, so that they shone brighter and brighter.

With golden-silvery pliers he held a ring into the vibrant flame until it merged completely with the fire and could not be distinguished from it anymore. Now the man withdrew the ring but continued incessantly to blow at it.

Within the ring brilliant streaks appeared in a splendour of colours as if wrought by magic hands; and finally the circle, that before had glistened so white, looked like a rainbow joining itself.
This colourful halo was interwoven with innumerable flying, glowing sparks and looked like an arching milky way.

Each time the stars collided, they strove outwards from within the ring of light as if they wanted to escape it.
The young smith, however, drove them back into the circle again with his breath, assigning every single spark its place within the ring.

But the glowing sparks thus turned back did not settle there but rather moved, as if by an unfathomable secret plan, on glowing orbits through the whole ring without ever colliding again.
After thus magically organizing all the innumerable glowing sparks, the versed man hit three times with his golden-silvery hammer into the centre of the ring and drove the little suns, that were still left romping about freely, into the ring of rays where he gave them too their orbit again with the power of his breath.

Now the golden shimmering structure looked like a very fine universe in itself which within the ring permanently permeated itself creatively according to the laws of a cosmic order. The whole milky way was clad into a delicate silvery-white mist which seemed to cool the golden rays of the individual wandering suns - without, however, diminishing their luminosity.

Now the young smith dipped the ring into a crystal-clear well next to the forge.
And as the marvel piece of art was wetted by the pure water of this source the inner silvery-white mists laid themselves around the whole ring like a firm protective cover and made it opaque; now it shone in a silvery-white splendour out of which a very subtle golden light shimmered.

With his hand the young man took the cooled ring from the silvery-golden pliers and handed it over to his teacher who had followed the work of his pupil all the time with alert and benevolent eyes from his throne.
