We find this music work in the opera "Curse or blessing: yet" – when it is about cognition, about the inner insight into the reality of life, as opposed to an outwardly directed life in laughter and merriment.
The slow parts relate to the process of internalization and the fast brass-parts relate to that engaging of the awareness in the outside world.
That is, we deal here with music of the opera's so-called "cognition-scene", at the beginning of act three, and thus with a corresponding phase transition into a higher world of musical cognition – while others chase after an outwardly directed way of life and do not participate in the intellectual-emotional phase transition to the inner world, to the world of conscience.

Wir finden dieses Musikwerk in der Oper „Fluch oder Segen: doch” wieder – da, wo es um Erkenntnis geht, um innere Einsicht in die Wirklichkeit des Lebens im Gegensatz zum veräußerlichten Leben in Jubel, Trubel, Heiterkeit.
Die langsamen Teile betreffen den Prozeß der Verinnerlichung und die schnellen Brass-Teile jener Veräußerlichung.
Es handelt sich also um Musik zur sogenannten Erkenntnisszene der Oper am Beginn des dritten Aktes und somit entsprechend auch um einen musikalischen Phasensprung in eine höhere Welt der musikalischen Erkenntnis – wobei andere einer veräußerlichten Lebensweise nachjagen und an dem geistig-emotionalen Phasensprung nach innen, in die Welt des Gewissens nicht teilhaben.
